Suburb Profiles

Burbank

Approximately 20km from the Brisbane CBD, Burbank is a large suburb incorporating conservation parkland, J.C. Trotter Memorial Park and the Tingalpa Reservoir. Families make up the majority of residents and occupy a mix of residential acreage and some single unit dwellings on new estates. More residential developments are planned for the future and it is expected that Burbank will continue to be one of Brisbane’s most expansive suburbs. The spread-out nature of the suburb means that local amenities are accessed primarily by car. Public transport in the area is difficult with no rail station and buses limited to the major arterial roads. However, more frequent bus services to and from the city are available from nearby Capalaba Shopping Centre. Burbank residents are also reasonably close to the Gateway Motorway, which makes the Gold and Sunshine Coasts readily accessible. Capalaba Park Shopping Centre and Capalaba Central offer Burbank residents access to all the major supermarkets and retailers, as well as a cinema complex. Although there are no schools in Burbank, families are well catered for with primary and secondary schools located in neighbouring suburbs.

Cherbon Waters is a stunning secluded ceremonial garden based on the banks of the Leslie Harrison Reservoir in Burbank, south east of Brisbane. Set across four acres of gardens, this breathtaking setting offers couples the perfect haven and unique atmosphere at which to publicly declare their love for each other and start out on their life-journey together.

Cherbon Waters offers absolute “away from it all seclusion” where you and your wedding party can relax at your own pace and enjoy one of the most important days of your life without interruption. The garden also offers a large purpose-built rotunda which overlooks the lake and which can seat over 60 guests with standing room others, so all can enjoy the ceremony.

Photographically, there is a photograph waiting to be taken with every turn of your head. From the expanse of the lake, three different lawn terraces, waterfalls, ponds, babbling brooks and miniature bridges, hidden gum forests and lillyponds, the rustic country secret paths and Reflection Cove where the water is like a mirror.
